When one of your partitions is running out of space, but another partition has enough free space. In this case the built-in "Allocate Free Space" function lets you move free space from one partition to another without data loss.
To allocate free space, please follow the steps below:
This is an example to allocate free space from D drive to C drive in Windows Server 2003 (other configurations and operating systems are available, click here to choose the right version).
Step1: Launch Partition Assistant Server. All the partitions and disks are shown as below:
Step2: Right click on D drive and select "Allocate Free Space".
In the pop-up window, enter the size of free space you want to allocate from D drive and choose the partition to which you want to allocate (here choose C drive).
Step3: Click "OK". You can preview the free space which was initially in D drive has been allocated to C drive. To save the changes, please click "Apply" on the toolbar.
